About us

We exist so training actually leads to a job.

Started in Accra. Built for young Africans everywhere.

Why we built it

Why we built SF Fellows GH.

SF Fellows GH started as a training program. We train young Africans in enterprise tools (Salesforce first, with more to come) before their first real job. Every cohort finished knowing the tools. The problem showed up when they tried to get hired.

Employers wanted experience, not certificates. The missing piece was six months inside a real organisation, on a live system, with real data and real deadlines. An internship. So we started looking for organisations that could host placements. The first conversations told us the rest.

Most of the NGOs we spoke to were running on Google Sheets, WhatsApp groups, and a shared folder nobody had opened since the last grant cycle. They couldn’t take a placement even when they wanted to. There was no system to put a Fellow on. And most had no idea that Salesforce, Google for Nonprofits and others give their tools to qualifying NGOs for free. The tools existed. Nobody was helping them get in. So we built the thing that solves both.

We set the NGOs up. The NGOs host the Fellows. The Fellows leave with real hours, real references, and a live system they helped run. The NGOs keep the system. No commission, no reselling. The NGO’s out-of-pocket cost is zero or near-zero.

The founding gap

“The Fellows finished knowing the tools. The NGOs needed the tools. Matching them was the whole point.”

What we believe

Five rules we don’t break.

01

The Fellow is the point.

Everything we build exists to get a young person into a real job. If a Fellow finishes and isn't more hireable, we failed.

02

Experience over certificates.

No program that stops at a classroom. Every Fellow earns a real six-month+ placement.

03

Two problems, one answer.

We never help youth or NGOs in isolation. The same move must serve both.

04

Free means free.

The vendor systems are free for qualifying NGOs. We take no commission and resell nothing. If an NGO ever gets a surprise invoice from us, we've broken faith.

05

Open by design.

Rooted in Ghana, open to the continent and the world. A registered NGO's location is never a reason to say no.

Why this, why now

Africa’s youth are ready. The on-ramp is missing.

Africa has the youngest, fastest-growing workforce on earth and a generation hungry for digital careers, yet youth unemployment stays stubbornly high because training rarely comes with a way in. At the same time, thousands of NGOs run blind on spreadsheets while free enterprise tools sit unclaimed. We connect the two.

We’re practitioners who have sat on both sides: the job interview and the funder-review meeting. We know exactly where the on-ramp is missing. That’s why this exists, now.
